Making Space for… Into the Studio
Sometimes you don't need more information.
You need a different kind of space.
You bring whatever you're carrying, a block, a decision, a feeling of flatness, or simply the need to think outside your usual surroundings. What happens from there is yours to shape.
The studio is filled with materials, books, collected objects, and work in progress. It doesn't look like a meeting room or a workshop venue. It looks like somewhere a person has been thinking carefully for a long time.
Before /
Discovery Call
A 30-minute conversation, £20, credited toward your session if you go ahead. Preceded by a short form you complete at your own pace. I read it before we speak. The call is about understanding what you're bringing and shaping the day around that, not a booking admin step.
During /
The Session
Time in the studio, materials, books, invitations if you want them. A walk into the surrounding landscape, built into every session. How much conversation or quiet you need is led entirely by you. I'm present, not prescriptive.
After /
The Closing Conversation
Before we sit down together, you fill in a short reflection form, what surfaced, what shifted, what you noticed. The conversation then looks at insights and what you take forward. It's where things often land.
What the time can hold
In the studio
Paul's own practice is visible throughout, drawings, sketchbooks, work on the walls. The studio is a lived space, not a neutral one. That's the point of it.
Drawing materials, inks, paint. Nothing precious, everything available. Collected pottery and objects chosen for form and texture. A working library covering art, nature writing, science, philosophy, and spirituality.
Getting outside
Every session includes a walk in the surrounding landscape — twenty minutes in a half day, longer in a full one. This isn't a break. It's a different mode of thinking. Moving and talking, or walking in quiet, loosens things that don't shift in a room.
What Paul offers
Attention and genuine availability. An environment shaped by years of working with materials, thinking about process, and paying close attention to how people make things and what gets in the way.
The session can be fully accompanied or almost entirely solitary. Some people want to be guided. Some want the presence of another person working nearby, in another room, while they find their own way. Both work here.
