Planetary Portal Vessels

- Each vessel is a world; geological surface containing a portal into darkness. -

The Planetary Portal Vessels began in raku-fired ceramic — forms whose surfaces carry the marks of fire, smoke and reduction, reading as ancient, oxidised, planetary. The aperture within each form opens onto pure void: a threshold between the material and the immaterial, the seen and the unseen.

The project is now moving into new territory. The geometry of the Empyrean installation — light from within, pulsing, immersive — combined with papier mache surfaces that reach for the same geological quality as the fired clay. Humble materials. Deeper encounter.

Chemistry. Chance. Constraint.

The constraint is the form. What happens within it — in the making, in the surface, in the light — remains open.
