One-to-One Tutoring
One-to-One Tutoring is personalised creative support for young people aged 13 to 18 - built around what's actually needed, whether that's GCSE options, coursework, A-level portfolio work, or simply focused individual attention.
Sessions take place wherever works best — at home, at Paul's studio, or elsewhere by arrangement. Paul holds a current Enhanced DBS on the update service.
Every booking starts with a Discovery Session, to work out priorities and agree how ongoing sessions will run.
How Does Tutoring Work?
Starting with a Discovery Session
A one-off 60-minute session to understand what's needed and where to focus - before anything ongoing is arranged.

Sessions built around what's needed
Ongoing sessions run 60 or 90 minutes, depending on age and focus — £25 for 60 minutes, £35 for 90 minutes. Sessions are typically booked in blocks and paid by bank transfer. Travel and frequency are agreed together based on what's needed.
Ideas, technique and critical thinking
Every session is shaped around what a young person actually needs - generating and developing ideas, building technique in a particular material or process, or the critical understanding that GCSE and A-level coursework increasingly asks for.
Paul's approach is person-centred throughout: starting from where someone already is, and building the confidence to trust their own ideas rather than follow someone else's method.
Led by a practising artist and educator
Young Creator’s Lab is led by Paul Liptrot, artist and creative educator. Paul has led on a variety of workshops and was the lead for the Midlands Maker Challenge at the Museum of Making in Derby, working with over 350 young people.
Paul loves working with young people to help them develop and brings genuine excitement about materials and process, and a belief that everyone has something worth making.
